Although you technically can “meditate” anywhere, it becomes exceptionally powerful when you ritualize it. Make a special time and place, do things to prepare your mind and body, then go deep. You don’t need much, but here is what we recommend.
Meditation Cushions
There are many types of meditation cushions. You could use anything, as long as you get your seat higher than you legs so you have a nice, vertical, neutral spine so that you’re spending minimal energy or attention to staying upright (and correcting your posture is crucial, too.) We recommend a half-moon or crescent-shaped, buckwheat-filled one, like those below:
Something to go under you
Nothing beats a good old Mexican Blanket. Head down to the border, or Old Town San Diego, to load up on them, or get them on Amazon.
